Geography

 

El Coyol de Linaca is a community located in the department of Choluteca in the southern part of Honduras. This area of the country is extremely hot with temperatures often soaring to well over 100°F.

Education

El Coyol de Linaca has a primary school that offers kindergarten through sixth grade. The school has four rooms, and there are three teachers. There are 68 students in primary school and 24 students in kindergarten.  Students who wish to continue their education beyond sixth grade may choose to attend a secondary school in either Choluteca or San Lorenzo.

Currently, El Coyol de Linaca has a water system that only serves 15 households.

The closest health center is in Central Linaca which about 4 miles away from El Coyol de Linaca.
